As I mentioned recently, I have needed, for some time, to get back into reading on a regular basis.  Homeschooling moms, especially, need to be careful to put a little fuel back into the mental tank that we so freely give from.  I know, for myself, that when I read on a wide variety of topics I think more clearly.  My brain just works better!  I’m also better able to converse with others, Copper included.  So, following my own advice, I am back to a regular routine of reading.  I thought I might share with you, briefly, about each book as I finish it.

Bound for Glory (God’s Promise For Your Family), by Dr. R. C. Sproul, Jr.    I started this book yesterday, and finished it this afternoon.  At just 119 pages, including the Introduction and Postscript, it was a quick, and relatively easy, read.  Copper and I, though Christians for decades, are very new to the reformed faith and covenant theology.  This book was a huge help to me in understanding the basics of the covenant family.  The chapters – The Family Plan, The Family’s Chief End, The Covenant Husband, The Covenant Wife, The Covenant Child, and The Church Family – all did a wonderful job of spelling out the basics for me.  An added bonus is that the Introduction and the final chapter, Questions and Answers, are really a printed transcript of conversations between the author and his more famous father.  IMHO, this is a most excellent little book!

God bless you as you look well to the ways of your household.
