Change of Identity? – Saturday March 31, 2007

No, not really.  I’m still Copper’s Wife.  Proud to be.  I was just struck awhile back, in reading some of the debate in blogging circles, about anonymous commenters and such.  I’ve never, I don’t think, commented anonymously.  Well, there have been those accidental times on other servers where I thought I was signed in and found out I wasn’t.   Do those count?   I’ve always tried to use some form of my name or other identifier.  In the last several months, of course, I’ve used Copper’s Wife to sign all of my comments and linked, whenever possible, to this blog.

However, I do have a few personal friends who blog and they, of course, know and use my name.  As I’ve exchanged e-mails with others of you, I’ve always signed with, at least, my real first name as we‘ve become friends.

Long story short, I have decided to remain Copper’s Wife, but also to use my first name here and when leaving comments.  So, without any further ado…..Hi! My name is Cheryl, and I’m pleased to have you visit me here at my blog, which I call Copper’s Wife.

While we’re talking identities…..I’m sorry that xanga requires you to have an account in order to comment. They have promised, for months now, that comments would be opened to everyone.  I’m still waiting.  Establishing an account, of course, requires nothing more than an e-mail address, and you can set up a hotmail account for that and remain totally anonymous.

If you have established a xanga account for commenting on xanga blogs, yet keep your own blog on another service, please do just one xanga blog entry re-directing us to your “real” blog.  Inserting a link to redirect folks automatically is always helpful. It will help us get to know you better.  Thanks!

     Have a wonderful weekend, and…..

God bless you as you look well to the ways of your household!
