I love sharing things here with all of you.  I really and truly do!  I also love the fellowship that can spring up in the comments sections.  We’ve laughed together, prayed for one another and shared one another’s burdens.    However, as I’ve mentioned here frequently and as I’ve noted in my profile in the side bar, my priorities, in order, are:

1 – My faith (my relationship with the Lord)
2 – My husband
3 – My children
4 – My home
5 – My church and/or my ministry
6 – Whatever else there’s time for.

I consider this blog a cross between #5 and #6!!!  If I’m away for a day or two, it is because other things which have priority are filling my day.  I am first and foremost a Christian – a sinner saved by grace alone.  I have been married to my husband for 28 years.  I have four children and three grandchildren, with a fourth grandchild due in June.  I am a homeschooling mom to two boys.  I am a homemaker.  I do feel that the Lord has called me as an older woman to teach the younger women to love their husbands and their children and to be keepers at home (my ministry).  And I have friends and hobbies and such that I enjoy very much as well.

So far this week, I have been busy with catching up on some things that went by the wayside during our busy weekend.  I’ve spent some extra time in prayer, and pondering some Bible verses I’ve just read.  (priority #1)
My husband has been home on his normal days off, and I’ve gone on two trips to town with him.  I’ve not gone to do anything myself, but just went for the ride along in the car with him!  We even took in a movie last night! (priority #2)
I spent  45 minutes IMing with my married daughter this morning.  We try to IM at least once every day.   I’ve been pulling the boys back to our normal routines, including homeschooling, after missing a few days recently as we prepared for extended family celebrations in our home.(priority #3)
I’ve been catching up on some ironing, and doing a bit of gardening, along with just keeping up with my normal household routine.  (priority #4).
I’ve spent some extra time praying specifically today for the elders of my church and also for their wives (priority #5).
I’ve been working on a project here and there with Dani that will, Lord willing, soon bless all of you as you look well to the ways of your households (priority #5).
I spent about 15 minutes on the phone today with a dear neighbor.  I spent thirty minutes or so today visiting some of your blogs.  I wrote a couple of e-mails to friends today. (priority #6)

Tomorrow, I’m taking my eldest daughter, Corin, out for lunch and to do some birthday shopping (priority #3), but I also have my normal household tasks to complete as well. (priority #4).

I am not announcing a break from blogging.  I am not planning on being away.  As I said at the beginning, I really do enjoy sharing things here with you.  In fact, I have several things on my heart right now to share, and a member of my blog advisory (Hi, Lisa!), has even suggested a few more things that she thinks might be helpful to you all.  Another member of the blog advisory (this time Corin) reminded me of something else that I was going to share.

You see, you are often on my mind and in my heart, even if I’m not showing it by posting every day!!     All of this is just to say – Please know, if I am away without warning it is because I am keeping my priorities in order.  I urge you, my friends, to do the same.

God bless you as you look well to the ways of your households!

  • I can understand the need for a break, and will be praying for you. I will miss your blog terribly.. but thank God for your heart to follow after His leading! God bless you!

  • :goodjob:

I can still give you a hard time for not posting every day right??? :fun:

  • I’m so very thankful you blogged about this subject. Reminding us to keep our priorities in order is paramount to our relationship with our Lord as well as our hubbies and families.

    Bless you sweetly.:heartbeat:

  • No worries ItrustYouLord, my mom will still be blogging!  She was just clarifying that sometimes she may not post for a couple days as she is busy with other priorities.  I know that your prayers are always much appreciated.

As she wrote above ” I am not announcing a break from blogging.  I am not planning on being away.”

My mom should be updating in the next day or two as she has a lot on her heart to share with all of you.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

  • I truly enjoy your blog. I occassionally feel out of sorts. I clearly know that this happens when  I get my priorities out of order. However, I have never set down and defined my priorities quite as clearly as you have. Thank you for the push to do that. I look forward to the project you are doing with your daughter.

  • my comment about the chicken thighs was a pure funny thought to leave a comment and just check in.  I hope that did not author this post, I was seriously just joking around.  I am busy too…

  • i private emailed you…

  • I know just what you mean.  There are higher priorities than blogging, which is why I don’t get around to commenting on others blogs as often as I would like.  Take care,

    Debbie
