Peanut Butter Bars

If you love peanut butter and chocolate together, you’ll love these wonderful, crunchy Peanut Butter Bars! They are quick to make in a saucepan on the stove and are only in the oven long enough to melt the chocolate chips on top.

1 cup sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
2 cups peanut butter (creamy or chunky, your preference)
6 cups corn flakes
1 3/4 – 2 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (we like them REALLY chocolately and use 2 1/2 cups!)

In a large sauce pan, blend sugar and Karo syrup together over medium heat until sugar dissolves.  Remove from heat and add the peanut butter.  Stir until blended.  Gently stir in corn flakes. Spread mixture into a 9×13 baking pan.  Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.  Heat in a 350° oven until chips melt (about 5 minutes).  Spread chocolate over peanut butter mixture.  Cool.  Cut into bars.
