Merry Christmas

Quiet evenings at home, watching our favorite Christmas movies together.  The only lights on, most evenings, are the Christmas lights, and the fire in the wood stove.  Cozy.  Warm.  Tradition.

Tending to the little details, finishing up the handmade gifts, and carefully hiding presents under the tree.  Reminding one another to drink plenty of fluids and to take our homeopathic cold helps.  Tenderly caring for the youngest one with his sore throat and sniffly nose.

We are now in the full swing of cooking and preparing for two days of holiday gatherings.  Nineteen members of our extended family will be here on Christmas Eve for a buffet supper of soups and breads – desserts to be brought by our guests.  Christmas Day will find a bit smaller crew, with all four of our children, all four of our grandchildren, our favorite son-in-love and the wee grandbaby expected next spring here for dinner, games and I’m sure, much silliness.

I hope the coming days will find you enjoying your family, friends and loved ones.  I’ll see you again very soon.

Until then, Merry Christmas, and may God bless you as you look well to the ways of your household.
