With Humblest Apologies

I have had a most excellent day!  Dani and I were able to slip away for a girlie outing, just the two of us.  We browsed and browsed to our hearts’ content at the Jo-Ann Superstore.  Fabric.  Yarn.  Paper crafting.  Lots of wonderful sales, gift cards in hand and a 10% off the total purchase coupon.  Bliss!!!  We made a Starbuck’s stop (with another gift card) and both of us dubbed today’s drinks “the best of the season”.  There was a quick (ha!) trip to Michael’s to browse the Martha Stewart aisle, then we were off to Costco for two items.  I kid you not, two items, and we were in line for 30 minutes.

With all of that as an explanation, it is with my humblest apologies that I say that the drawing announcement promised for today will come tomorrow instead.  After a very fun day in town, my wonderful – handsome – dealing with the sniffles – last day of vacation husband is taking us back to town for dinner, and then we’ll settle in for the second half of The Two Towers (still working our way through that LOTR trilogy).

Ah, yes, a MOST excellent day!

God bless you as you look well to the ways of your household!

  • LOL  I thought you guys had watched it ALL in one night.  I  was like “wow, these are some serious Tolkien fans!” I’m a huge Tolkien fan myself, but nine hours is, well, nine hours.

  • @Lamb@revelife – LOL!  Yikes!  We have the extended editions, too.  We would have had to have started watching at noon!  Nope, we just start the trilogy on New Year’s Eve and then try to finish it up before the end of our homeschool break.  We finished The Two Towers tonight, and might, just might, finish Return of the King if we watch a wee bit tomorrow evening and finish up Sunday evening.  We’ll see!

  • Sounds like a wonderful day!

I received a Starbuck’s gift card and need to use it! =)

  • Sounds like a very lovely day with your DH. Enjoy your dinner and other 6 hours of movies you have to trudge through! (LOL)

  • Jo-Ann’s!!  Michaels!!  Costco!!  Sounds like a wonderful day–except for the standing in line bit.  What would I give to have just one of those stores less than 2-3 hours away from me!

My opportunities to browse craft stores come few and far between and I nearly always have the entire family in tow.  Have to get my browsing and shopping done before boredom sets in.

  • Oh, how fun!  I have such wonderful memories of my mom and I shopping, having lunch out and just having a wonderful mother-daughter day!!!!  I miss my mom, but hold tight to the memories.  Blessings for a wonderful weekend.

  • What a fun time you and your Dani girl had! My own dd is now nine and we are loving the girl time we spend together.

  • What a wonderful day!!  I too spent Friday browsing and shopping with my DD (her name is Dani too, lol) & my granddaughter Madison (aka Maddie, she’s 2).  It sounds like we all had a wonderful day!!  God Bless ~Gretchen~

  • I love the LOTR movies!  I hadn’t watched them until about four years ago.

    Your day sounds lovely.

Just thought I’d say hi!  I read your blog often and enjoy it a lot.

    Take care,

  • I’m glad Dani and you had a wonderful girl day.  My daughter and I had one of those days Saturday but we shopped for several birthday gifts and one baby shower.  We also ate at O’Charley’s for lunch and it was great.  It is so nice to have Mother and Daughter day!  Hope you and your family will have a wonderful 2009!
