Rocky Road

Rocky Road.  Not the ice cream.  We have been enjoying an especially busy time here.  We’ve had at least one outing every week, and some weeks up to three outings.  We’ve had a blast!  Our garden harvest has started in earnest, and we will soon have all sorts of wonderful things canned, frozen and dried for the months ahead.  I’m in the midst of revamping some routines in my home for the summer and planning ahead for fall.  The intense heat of the last week has kept me busy watering and irrigating, and I’m ever so thankful for our good, deep well.  The weather is slowly cooling down, and I’m thankful for that as well.
In the midst of all of this, my husband has been waging war for the last week with not one, but two, kidney stones.  He’s won the battle with the first stone.  He and Stone No. 2 are still at war, though a cease fire seems to now be in effect.  There may be some difficulties with the second stone.

I just wanted to let you know that I have not fallen off the face of the earth.  I am, as always, doing my best to see well to the ways of my own household.

God bless you as you look well to the ways of your household!

  • I’m just winding down and getting ready to head to bed. Glad you are doing well but so sorry to hear that your hubbin’s is fighting kidney stones. My dh had them a few years ago and he was in such pain. I hope your sweetie is through with this soon. Hugs to you!

  • Uggh! Kidney stones are nasty things! Praying for Copper! Glad to hear that you are all doing well! Sounds like a very busy time around your house! Take care!

  • Kidney stones are horrid! One of my sisters had a 5 year consistent battle complete with the procedures to ‘break them up’ in order to pass, etc. Since she began her ‘kidney stone’ food plan along with drinking about a gallon of lemony water per day she’s had no kidney stones, thank the Lord. They’re truly horrid. I’m praying for Copper, Cheryl. <><

Bless you as you see to Copper’s comfort as well as others in your home.  You’re a blessing.

  • So sorry that your hubby has to endure another round with kidney stones!  Hey he could take The Stones on tour.  Sorry I suppose that’s not funny right now.  Here’s hoping he has a fast recovery.  Take care!

  • I get it…Rocky Road!!! I will be praying for Copper!

  • Kidney stones, I’ve had them and know the pain.  I think it was worse than child birth pains and not rewarding at all !  I have one son that suffers with them regularly.  Wish the medical profession could do a little more for that ailment.  Prayers Copper’s way.

  • Praying for Copper.  My BIL suffers from Kidney stones also.  They are so painful.

  • Hi Cheryl,

I will keep you and Copper in my prayers. I know how hard it is to have a sick husband.

    Hugs,

    Elizabeth

  • Glad all is ok.  Kidney stones are the worst I dealt with a few a couple years ago but thankfully they were not large ones.  I too have about fallen off the earth with my new baby but did get a couple of pictures up today.
