Making Ready

We’re making ready. Our church is planning a church plant in the city closest to our home, with services scheduled to begin in July. Tonight we’re hosting the second meeting of folks interested in that church plant.

The Lord blessed us with a home that allows us to move a few pieces of furniture, set up folding chairs, and seat fifty (or more) fairly comfortably. We’re expecting between 35 and 40 this evening.

The coffee is made and the iced water is chilling.

Naturally, Dani made cookies.

I’m praying that the Lord will be glorified in our conversation tonight and that His will be done concerning the church plant.

  • Cookies look beautiful.   I will pray for your group.    Thanx for posting again.  Missed you.

  • Awesome!!! I pray the church gets off to a really great start and is a blessing to many!

    Such pretty cookies!!

  • @jennathome – @mamaof3bugs –   Thank you, ladies. Your prayers are welcome and very much appreciated.  And those cookies! Not only pretty, but absolutely delicious. The recipe for them is linked in the post. They’re called melt-in-your-mouth cookies and that is just what they do. Buttery, sweet, melt in your mouth deliciousness! I had two! Yikes!

  • I hope and pray and your meeting went well last night. (Sorry I missed it yesterday!)  I’ll keep your efforts in my prayers.

  • I am so happy for you! I know how much you loved your church and now to have it closer must be so exciting. I’ve had you on my heart the past few weeks and have wondered how you were doing. Now I know.

  • Happy Valentine’s Day!

  • Cheryl: I made your cookies for a family gathering and they were a hit. I frosted some with a sugar cookie frosting I’ve made before and then sprinkled them with Valentine’s Day colors. Thanks for the recipe.

  • Such a lovely picture, both literally and figuatively, of a warm home before it welcomes a gathering that I imagine was filled with the happy, excited voices of a church body that the Lord has blessed by starting it on a new adventure.  My prayers are with you and your church to make this transition smoothly.  But only as smoothly as God will have it be, because after all, He’s probably even added a wonderful lesson or two into this blessing for the church members don’t cha think?   That does seem to be how He likes to keep us sharp isn’t it?

I can’t wait for you to review the book I sent you and you have made a convert of me with the dish towels you sent to me.

    God Bless!
