Copper’s Day Off

My husband works on Saturday, which makes Monday our kind of-sort of Saturday.
Most Mondays, it’s chores and homeschool as usual.
From time to time, though, we need a Saturday sort of Monday.
Today was one of those Mondays.

Heavy, late winter and early spring rains left the ground too wet to mow for weeks.
The grass/weeds on the way to our garden area are three feet tall in places! Aaron mowed a path to the garden and the garden site today.

Will worked on clearing the weeds out of the gravel pathways in the back yard.
I’m pretending I don’t see the weeds in the flower bed in front of him.

Copper and I are still “crunching the numbers” on a weekly basis,
but it was sure pleasant working outside under our not-quite-leafed-out Sycamore tree this afternoon.

There was time for some fun today, too!
(Dani and Dixie enjoying the sunshine.)

Monday is great because it’s Copper’s day off!

How was your Monday?

God bless you as you look well to the ways of your household!

  • Yep, I’m out playing while the boys are working. I did have to take frequent breaks from throwing Ditz’s ball to go crack the whip

  • My Monday went well…I made it further in my Pilates dvd today, before I flopped down, exhausted!  That woman on there is the energizer bunny in a leotard, I think!!!   She just keeps going and going and going…but I just have to stop when I’m “done”!  One of these days I’ll make it to the end of the session – I’ll be sure to let you know when that happens!

So glad you are having some beautiful spring weather there.  I think the rain has shifted to our coast.  Last week we had one whole day of saturating rain (which is rare for us), and then 2 days later, we had tremendous thunderstorms, including tornadoes all around us.  Now today, we are having another day of severe thunderstorms.  I do love a good storm, though, so aside from the tornadoes, I am really enjoying the rainy days.

Thanks for sharing the pics – I love to see your beautiful family!

  • @ObtainingMercy – Good for you, Alesha! Your hard work will pay off with the Pilates. I love a good storm, too, but I’m glad we’re getting a break so the ground can dry out a bit.
